The main focus of this study is about the organization, the management and the methods of learning process using the traditional literatures (kitab kuning) in the Islamic Boarding School (pesantren). The research has shown that the teachers are classified into the Kyai (leader of Pesantren) and the senior student (santri). While the method of teaching and the way to develop the students'motivation are cultivated through the spiritual interaction among the teacher, the personality of the author and the recommended book itself. The othe focus is the stress on the orientation of seeking knoledge which is regarded as a worship (ibadah) as well as intellectual achievement and the blessing of the Kyai.
